the ~300 whp was on an auto right out of the box. For carb cert, at low boost (~6 psi) w/out upgrades.

The ~400 whp was on an auto, with the same kit, but at 9 psi (smsller custom gtm pulley), vpro, upgraded fuel system, and breathing mods.

edit: oops, marble beat me 2 it. no more snow bro!

I'm really curious to see how the new HKS SC is going to perform, especially on the RevUp.

Hey Jonny, I'll bet your glad you waited a bit longer now ey? I'm going to be wating for the revup kit to come out in the US before i dive in. So, a bit more waiting for me.
I'm eager to see what GTM can do with the stock kit out of the box with upgraded injectors.
As far as EMU, did HKS decide to go with the Fcon iS, instead of the SZ?

Yeah i saw that but i'm not paying that much for a kit that will cost less when they launch it in the states. I'm not that desperate, and am usually a very patient person. Not to mention that by the time the revup kit comes out there will be more of these around and prices might be a bit more competitive between dealers. Just maybe.

Dammit.

Can you guys talk me out of getting a JWT TT here on the east coast? I was actually on the HKS Rotrex bandwagon a while back, then it was canceled. But when they announced the GT, I got really excited.. made many posts on G35Driver and on this site. However was initially let down by the numbers.. jumped on the JWT bandwagon. I've been lurking here.. Now the bandwagon is starting to tip again.

All I need is a measly 360-370whp / 340-350 tq and I'm gold. Somebody tell me here, and now, why I should get this kit instead of the JWT. I'm dying here.

I'd be happy just with close to 350whp/350tq. This kit seems really attractive for someone not looking for big power. And if it puts out decent numbers out of the box and is CARB ceritified I'd really have to consider it. If not this then I guess Vortech is my only other choice. Looking forward to actual before and after dynos.

You need to get because those numbers are more than achievable easily with this kit. Your getting an awesome looking kit that just looks at home in the engine bay. Your getting amazing quality, and the kit wont weigh anywhere near as much as a TT kit, so it wont hurt your weight distribution much (to some people that's important).

Not to mention HKS means JDM goodness and baller status

You want this kit!

^^I was sold after hearing HKS and supercharger in the same sentence

Be on the lookout for a post from Sam@GTM regarding some of the HKS GT sc's they have installed (all A/t non-revups so far I think).

I was told my revup kit is already on its way from Japan to LA in a container via sea freight. Im hoping it's a fast ship...hehehe. I don't think I'll have the sc for HIN, as Sam expects the supplemental kit will take 1-2 weeks to make, then shipping and install/tune at local HKS pro dealer (GRD).

Marble--when u picking up ur car? I hope the midwest doesn't get any more snow!!

Im in the Northwest but the weather is getting better. Temp is at a low still but at least no snow for the last week or so LOL
I bought a plane ticket to go to Cali on the 10th and check it all out before they ship the car back. Taking it to the Global car show in Tacoma on the 17th. Lots-o-pics on that trip=) Plus a decent review since its a 6.5 hour drive there from where I live plus I go over the pass. Heading back through Portland for a 7.5 scenic return trip. Should have some impressions on the performance with all that driving

JWT TT is tried and true. (bias fully disclosed )

HKS has a great name/reputation, puts out great parts, and I'm sure the quality of this offering is similarly top notch. However, SC and TT feel very different. I have never heard of anyone going from a TT back to SC, but many have done the reverse. What does that tell you?

Come to ZdayZ and have a ride in both, then decide.

jonnylaw wants to keep his baller Amuse exhaust sound. Once he turbos it, it won't sound the same. I hope the slow boat from Japan gets here soon.

I think people in cali only go from turbo to SC. Why go through the trouble if you live anywhere but the peoples republic of california?

Yeah, nobody goes from turbo to SC unless they are sporting the turbonetics kit lol. Show me three people that have gone from turbo to SC in socal.

I've never been a fan of HKS's supercharger kit. GTM is hardcore hawking these things, but not because they are all that great, more because of their obligations as a pro-dealer. HKS makes great products but, in the end, it's just another supercharger kit, so not so impressive to me.

Thats your opinion, and you are entitled to it, but this supercharger kit has better fitment than any other kit, higher quality parts, and is more complete than any other kit. All that is unknown is how much power we can squeeze out of it, which we will find out soon enough.

But hey, what do we know

This coming from the guy who just recently got a Vortech and who in another thread on g35driver said:

I love HKS products but for the OP the HKS system is expensive and totally not worth the swap IMO. If the OP goes a different route he should go TT and maintain low boost.
I don't think you exactly know what you're talking about; so kindly join back with the herd at RA.

BTW, There were other options on the table for me. I almost bit the bullet on a Powerlab ST kit. I considered shipping my car out to cali for a HKS tt install..The Vortech wasn't even considered, especially after the recent number of QC reports and failures.

But, I wanted this kit, and didn't want to do what so many others have already done. The revup kit has never been tested on a g coupe period. GTM is skilled and innovative enough to offer a supplemental kit for me to fit the kit on my car (Thanks Sam! ). They also are making custom smaller pulleys to increase boost, etc. I can't think of a better shop for the job.

This kit was what I wanted for my setup. If you look at the other parts I bought for my car, you would realize that I could have spent a lot less money going with different brands, but I have a lust for jdm parts.

At the end of the day, a HKS kit, felt much more at home with my other parts (Endless, ARC, Amuse, Power Enterprise, etc.), than a Stillen/Vortech kit.

As far as TT, was not interested at the moment for a variety of reasons, but imo JWT has the best complete kit out there, although if money was no concern I would do a custom HKS rs TT setup.

I've riden in S/T, T/T, and S/C's cars, and turbo'd boost definetly gives you a rush and is exciting, but it's not what I was looking for right now. Truth be told, I'll be very happy with a reliable ~375 whp, especially on a kit as compact as efficient as the HKS. If/When I'm itching for 500 whp than T/TT will be on the table.
