I tried to go this route Gord, but the stock long-block I bought turned out to be an oil consumption nightmare that was only good as a core. Then I bought another stock short-block and UPS dropped it and broke off one of the head mounting studs, so that was trash and it took 8 weeks for me to get my money back from the seller and UPS.

This stupid car fights me at every turn . The new project right ow is sourcing all new hardware (nuts and bolts) for the turbo kit. After being on and off the car 5-6 times some of the nuts are starting to round off and the threads aren't as clean as I would like. I anyone has done this for the APS or any other kit please shoot me a link of where I can shop for these things.

Thank You Sharif. You may be hearing from me. I only wish two things: your shop was closer; I had just dropped off my car and a pile of money at Forged in the first place

If you want to do some charity work and help turn around the longest streak of fail in the F/I forum in exchange for some HUGE Forged logos on my car and some serious forum nuthugging let me know

^ nah. Chris needs to stick to one shop. Pick a new one Chris and never look back. Hurry up though and choose because all the good shops have a long queue to get the work done... and I want to see you on that airstrip come May!

I would like to attend the airstrip for some redemption from last year, but the reality is that my setup may never be competitive at that start mph or short distance. I definately have to rethink the progressive boost based on gear as guys were jumping me off the line with my 12lbs in second and 17lbs in third.

Raj - could you post or PM me what gauges you are running to monitor everything (not the brand but what they are monitoring). Thanks.

On that airstrip you're at the limit of traction with 500 whp in low gear, then you need to get up to 600-650 by the end. You don't need anymore because that strip is so short. Hal with his car at 30 psi, won, but it was hard fought because of traction issues (on ET streets no less). XKR lost to me because of traction. So it's still anyone's game on that field (unless we get some high powered GTRs out there). You were giving up a lot between shifts - something was definitely off with the car.

I continuously monitor (in order of priority for me):

dual bank AFR (Haltech gauges),
boost (Innovate XD-16 gauge),
oil pressure (Logworks display),
oil temp (Logworks display),
5AT temp (Logworks display),
fuel pressure (Logworks display),
coolant temp (Haltech display),
air intake temp (Haltech display),
w/m injection pressure (Logworks display),
w/m flow (Aquamist gauge),
closed loop O2 corrections (Haltech display),

I have sensors for other things for troubleshooting/logging only but they are not hooked up or monitored all the time (coolant pressure, ignition voltage, fuel pump voltage, rpm pick up, cylinder head temp, crankcase pressure, probably some others I can't remember off the top of my head)

Even people that have done that have failed Its easy to point fingers but at the end of the day some people will always have a rough road ahead of them, just the nature of the game. It is a tough to swallow truth though for some of us.

There's no guarantee that taking it to X shop instead of Y shop would have been fail-free from the start. Every shop has it's ups and downs. Good luck with your future plans Cass, looking forward to some Win.

I did the same for the JWT kit the only two losers that have had the kits on and off so many times the nuts and bolts are wearing out I went through Forged if I recall right not sure if they are APS dealers though
