I don't think stock widebands are supported.

edit: its a HUGE selling point. If it can pass obd2 and maybe edit it some too then this will be CRAZY for SWAPPED CARS

Yeah, this is on page 2.

I would make be crazy to release a full ecu replacement that cant pass obd2. IMO. That's why this unit is so great. Literally drop the VQ in a car that's 96 or newer and you "can" pass obd2.

That's the killer part about the high end systems, if you lose the stock ecu you lose obd2 also.

OBDII Diagnostic Trouble Code Storing & Check Engine Light Control – Generic OBDII protocol Only

thats what the spec sheet says. So generic means standard codes, IE no P1000+ i think. So just the regular stuff not Manufacture specific.

ooo good find!

http://files.haltech.com/downloads/p...50Z_Z33_V1.pdf

Looking at page 13 the wiring diagram.

I beleive you are right! I do not see factory wideband support!!!

Soooo i guess you gotta buy the haltech dual channel wb. Def remove the factory o2's in that case.

I sure hope this thing lives up to what a full ecu replacement should mean.

Features: Direct plug and play replacement of the OEM ECU, No re-wiring necessary
Uses the vehicles standard sensors & engine hardware
Electronic Throttle Control - (Drive By Wire) with Cruise Control
Retains instrument panel functionality via CAN communications

Factory Inputs: MAF sensor Throttle Position Sensor Knock Detection Sensor
Narrow Band Oxygen sensors Coolant Temperature sensor Vehicle Speed Sensor
Air Temperature sensor Power Steering Switch
Brake Switch

Factory Functions
Not Supported: Immobilizer, Wideband 02 Sensors

As I said it should since it says it right there
plus the Haltech has always had support for the factory O2 sensors since the beginning it would be stupid of them not to support it since they have in the past. The OEM widebands are not though =((

Sure it might support OBD2, but it will not show readiness for any of the SRT monitors.

So if you have to pass an inspection where they plug into the OBD2 port, you will not pass.

There is no legal way that Haltech could do that.

Hal knows if it will or not, so a simple yes or no should clear it up. Will the Haltech box pass an state OBD2 inspection?

If extra wiring is needed for wideband support where does the wiring go to? I don't see any extra connectors/harnesses on this new haltech. Makes me wonder if it supports widebands at all.

Rear Auxiliary Connector
The Platinum Pro Plugin Series allows further expansion of your ECU by the
Rear Auxiliary Connector.
The Rear Auxiliary connector allows you access to:
• 1 Additional Digital Pulsed Input ( DPI )
• 2 Additional Digital Pulsed Outputs ( DPO )
• 2 Additional Digital Switched Outputs ( DSO )
• 4 Additional Analogue Voltage Inputs ( AVI )
These extra Inputs / Outputs can be used to:
• Fit additional sensors. (eg MAP,Temperature and Flex Fuel )
• Control additional devices via relays
• Control additional solenoids directly (eg Aftermarket Boost Control solenoid)
The Rear Auxiliary harness is available as an optional extra. ( HT040003 )

You connect your widebands/2 step/AIT with that and any other extras

The issue is the haltech shows not applicable for all test, and there is no way to change that in anyway that i know of. Because of legal faking ready.

What matters if is it says NOT READY,then itll def fail the test but maybe NOT applicable will pass.

Not Applicable would be for EGR systems on these cars , because they dont have them. BUT 04 maximas DO have them. So obviously some cars don't have EGR systems and then they so Not applicable for that part.

Only way to know is inspect a car with this ecu. And the test might even vary state by state.

Even if this ecu passed in NY IT would definetly be flagged by the dmv because the computer would know it was a nissan specific ecu in the car. The inspection station would be contacted and you probly would also. Its like when these type of inspections came out and we would plug in a different car. The car passed inspection and then we all got in trouble when we got letters in the mail a few weeks later...

Dang thats sucksss!

So as it stands right now this is all a big mess to me. With no answer on if the ecu will actually pass, and pass without being contacted by dmv and getting in trouble.

If you have to swap in your stock ecu and run it for a while just to pass inspection then whats the point of this full ecu replacement? The current haltech seems to be better in that department. As of now anyway.

any hackers here? maybe we need to find a programmer and jailbreak the haltech software to customize the 'ready' status.

I guess this 100% standalone ECU is great for track-only cars but for street driven cars the piggy Haltech makes way more sense.

We just got confirmation, the first batch of units are arriving today and we are taking the whole shipment! They will go fast, so call now to order!

Cruise control has been tested and is working like factory including dash indicators. Brake boosting also works. Complete idle, rev limiter, and speed limiter control! E85 flex fuel capability is built in! On-board data logging as usual! I am excited to test the new antilag and launch control features this weekend at the drag strip on my black 350Z. More to come soon...

HR and VHR are up next. It will still take some time for R&D, but worth the wait! If you need an immediate solution, we offer an HR upgrade on the Haltech 350Z Pro-Harness system.
