anyone that has to use a oil sump pump is absolutely crazy not to have an oil pressure gauge.
Don't know, ask Kyle at ipp. He told me ha has only warranted 1 engine in the 6 years he has been building them.

That tells me he just don't honor warranties.

The engine wasn't a complete loss, I learned from my first build to shut it down right away.

The bearings were in pretty bad shape but not spun.
They could have saved the crank but I got that replaced just so I don't have it to worry about.

The heads and cylinders were a little scraped up from the trash in the oil but were conditioned just fine.

BTW started out with a gt35 and it blew a seal. My tuner then got a precision 6562 and he then blew out that seal too, this time the alarm went off for the oil pump. This is when my tuner figure out what was the cause of the turbo failers. I guess the pump was failing for a while but not enough to trip the 1 psi alarm.

So any way I had the seal repressed, then I got an exa pump put on took the car that night with a conservative 8lb boost tune and not long after that I felt a grinding sensation when I gave it throttle in 4th, first thing I did was look at my oil pressure and it was good till I took my foot off the gas.
At idol it didn't have hardly any pressure at all.

sorry to hear that

if you were dropping to 0 oil pressure at idle, i guess all your oil was dumping out into your exhaust?

what a mess!

Kyle did not warranty the engine nor did he refund my core charge from my original engine.

Don't expect your $ back if if engine goes bang.

Good luck with your build, I'm going with the momentum kit now.
Oh well hopefully i don't run into the same issues so

twin STS is alot of piping, just go with a PTE Pro Mod91. Thats what all the big boys are using With that much displacement, it will have a good powerband

I wasn't trying to talk trash on you bro. FWIW I only ever drag raced that Z I was referring to the one night.

str8dum1, I'm leaning towards a precision turbo, .76mm bb
The LQ9 is "only" 6.0l heh

76 is too small (unless you mean 2). they use 76mm on 3 - 3.4L supras. even Snyper said that 88mm felt too small and had little lag.

You have a long road ahead in your build, but I'd seriously look at compressor maps. you'll be surprised how much turbo you can really and get a great powerband. 6L is a lot of displacement.

Strange, I've seen the 76 push nearly 1200

But the actual turbo part is going to be last, I didn't order anything turbo related yet. Just want to get the long block build and in our possession

[/threadjack sorry guys]

Ok I'm about to start my build. My goal is 500whp with a rear mount. I'm trying to buy a block and crank from a member on here if he'll ever get me a shipping quote. Obviously forged bottom end is needed, but everywhere I look i get some mixed reviews on the DE heads. Would 500whp be alright with the stock DE heads? Also hoping you guys could help me out on which turbo to get. I'm knowledgeable in just about every aspect of building motors, but I've only had 2 other boosted cars one was a twin turbo VR4, had stock turbos. The other was a 300zx TT upgraded turbos but I didn't choose the turbos. So my question is can someone help me decide on a turbo to buy. Just seems like theres a million options out there. Thanks in advance.
