I'm sure 1.5 drop in the rear with 30mm spacer will rub...with prolly -1.5 camber. Stock 18" rims and tires.
However, how much fender roll is needed? i'm guessing i have to roll up as much as possible. My concern is that because the wheels are so much out with little camber, i'm not sure if rolling the fender will be good enough..

Just got my spacers ordered. Used 20mm for the front and new 25mm for the rear. Ichiba VII's. Both from Ebay. Can't wait. I'll post pictures of before and after.

I'm a G-noob... looking into spacers as well. AWESOME thread and loads of information. One of the tips for measuring that I hadn't seen while perusing the 18 pages was the washer trick. A person can stack washers behind their hub and then measure the stack when they get the look they desire. I'm not sure if there was any other way- but I found trying to get an accurate measurement with just a ruler / measuring tape less than accurate. This tip is probably more for the other noobs like me.

good first post........

I choose not to mention that, so that no noobs would get the idea that any amount of washers was okay to drive on......or to add to their spacers if it wasn't enough.......etc..

I guess just statically testing to get the right mm thickness doing this would be fine.........your car, your choice everyone...

I certainly hope that people wouldn't be stupid enough to actually drive their cars while using washers as a spacer guesstimate.

are open lugs necessary to mount the spacers on the the wheel hubs?

Can i reuse stock lug nuts to put the wheel spacers on and use spline lugs to hold the wheels?

Smile Ichiba V2 Spacers Intalled

Just wanted to share some new shots. The car is lowered with Eibach Pro Kit Springs with Ichiba V2 Spacers (20mm front / 25mm rear). It doesn't only look better, but it handles better as well. This thread definitely helped me a lot.

Okay, I finally installed my spacers but I did a little before and after first before completing the work. IMO I probably would just do a 15mm-20mm instead of a 20mm-25mm only because the back looks like it will rub if I drop the car a bit but i will perform the 4X2 wood thing on the rear to confirm this. I'd have to admit that it looks like a nice simple cheap mod to do. The Ichiba's look realy sturdy and can handle the job quite well. The only thing I noticed is the 90ft/lbs of torque for the stud seems not enough but I did 90ft/lbs anyway and will re torque them the next time I do my oil change. Kudos to Jason for a very informative thread.

Rear pics...

I don't think the 25mm spacers are recommended for the rear if you are going to do one of the following:
1. The Z is dropped significantly
2. If you are planning to autocross your Z
I probably will try my 20mm spacers for the rear and see what happens or maybe roll the fenders a bit.

I think rolling fenders is the easiest and cheapest solutions...honestly its best to have it done and have it out of your way in case you want to go even wider and etc...

hey J, you know what's weird is that my OEMs are 47 mm overall length.
i got a G35 coupe... is that y there's that difference?

kinda pissed cuz i ordered THESE "extended" studs which ichiba says should be used with spacers up to 5 mm.
well i basically threw $75 down the drain ($25 for studs, $50 for labor).

the ones that you circled in green... can u use those as regular lugs for wheels, and not just for spacers?

well, it could be, but I have also noticed that some companies measure theirs differently..........

autozone p/n said 42mm length, but when i put them next to each other they were identical..........so they were measuring the threaded section only....

wait till you get them in and compare...........5mm is nothing, so if they are anything longer, im sure they are fine....

yes of course, those are from "gorilla's" web site as lug nuts not "spacer only lug nuts" .............I use them to ensure clearances due to their compact size and the "LIP" they have to keep the socket from gouging out the inner spacer area...
